GIF Development Process.

Introduction

For our first group project for Digital Media, we were first tasked with choosing a mission within the  Creativity section. Afterwards, we then had to research about the selected choice before we create an example that represents that selected choice. Finally, we then present our findings and creations to our lecturer for assessment.

Week 1

On the first week of October, we were given the project, afterwards, we got into groups of three based on who wanted to create or research which option. I got into a group with Christopher Mc Keon and Cian O'Dwyer. We all wanted to create an Animated Gif. We joined the Animated Gif server on Slack. We didn't brainstorm much about what to do and how we would tackle this project. We briefly mentioned about the project and what we would do to each other. It wasn't until Friday that we finally discussed it in person. After considerate brainstorming, we each assigned ourselves tasks to do until the deadline.

Christopher agreed to do the Intro to our presentation and to create and explain Photographic Gifs. Cian agreed to create Music Gifs and explain what they are. Finally, I agreed to talk about Gifs in Pop Culture and the process of how I created my Gifs through GIPHY; a free online database of Gifs that doubles as a Gif maker.

Week 2

On the second week, during a free lab, we got together and began working on our portion of the Presentation and our Gifs. For Pop Culture Gifs I had decided to go for Monty Python as my example of Pop Culture Gifs. Christopher went for photography gifs and Cian went for music gifs. I went ahead and researched how Gifs have an impact on Pop Culture and made gifs through GIPHY. During that same week, we got together and worked on our project together.

Week 3

This week, we finally got together for the last time and pieced together our project. We corrected or changed anything that we felt was too long or unnecessary before we saved our project into a file of its own. During that same week, we also had to present our project to Shawn.

This final image is the image of the same flower again, but the thing that stands out the most is that it's a lot more darker than usual and it seems more focused compared to the other images.

This is a photo of a leaf, that is taken in the corner of the frame. To me the leaf stands out the most from the rest of the photo, really taking your attention to it first.

This is the image of the flower from the previous blog but in colour. What stands out to me is essentially the Flower and the buds beside it, as everything else is blurred out. The Flower in colour also stands out for me.

This Photo is a recreation of a photo that I saw within a photography book. It uses the effects of Monochrome; basically Black and White

What I like about the photo here is the lighting; in which it looks as though the sun is shining from the left side. as though it is still dawn.

Hello, my name is Ron Mencias. 18 Years old and am in College. Attending TUDublin - Blanchardstown, doing CDM (Creative Digital Media) for 4 years. 

I am born in the Philippines but moved here to Ireland when I was 5. My Family are of the Evangelist Faith and are apart of a Evangelist church here in Blanchardstown. I have one 9 year old brother and a 13 year old sister. My sister is in Secondary School whilst my brother is still in Primary School. 

I have no preferred favourite music or artist, I don't mind listening to any music, as long as it has good lyrics and beat. Favourite things to do in my past time are playing games such as League or Total War, reading historical books and mythology and fanfiction, watching Anime, making youtube videos when I have time, and Eating food.  

For the next four years of my course, I would like to achieve as many high grades as possible, learn more about subjects such as Photography and Web Design and see which one is the best for me, and not only this but to learn more about using the Adobe Apps like Premiere Pro, Illustrator and Photoshop. After my course, I would like to work for companies such as Google, Facebook or even go and become a Freelancer.
